The last few months has seen a lot of quiet work behind the scenes. Most recently, Morganonline’s informative film ‘Ocean invasion’ is being used for educational purposes in the Ocean Care Foundation’s School Campagne 2008. To celebrate World Ocean Day on 8 June, we entered a collaboration with Goed TV (Good TV) which broadcast ‘Ocean invasion’ on that day, regularly in the week following. To our delight, ‘Ocean invasion’ was even named ‘Documentary of the month’. Staying on the theme of film, in a collaboration with Librium TV, BlueDrop and McDonald’s, a short film that we produced for the Ocean Care Foundation is being screened in all McDonald’s restaurants nationally. We have also been busy with other media. An interview on Radio Omroep Brabant and a short article on one of the national newspapers on behalf of the Ocean Care Foundation completed our media work.
On the ocean front, Ernie returned to Lanzarote in May to do some maintenance on the Morgan. During that time he was able to support SECAC with research. Luckily for a juvenile loggerhead turtle entangled in plastic, he and Silvana were at sea and were able to rescue it. You can read about the rescue in his blog.
