Plastic in Bali Indonesië
Het eerste wat me op viel was dat de straten relatief schoon waren. Buiten de dagelijkse bidbakjes die je overal ziet, was er niet veel plastic op de stranden en in de straten.
Daar waar we wel veel plastic zagen na heftige regenval, was op het strand en in de vissershaven. Het is nu het begin van de regentijd in Azië. Deze tijd wordt gekenmerkt door heftige regenval. Hierdoor stromen de rivieren leeg en komt het afval dat in een jaar is verzameld via de rivieren in de oceaan.
Het positieve dat ik heb gezien, is dat lokale schoolkinderen met grote plastic zakken het plastic van het strand verwijderde.

ijn eerste gedachte was daarbij dat het een druppel op een gloeiende plaat was. Maar als we allemaal een stukje plastic verwijderen van de straat of in onze eigen omgeving, is het hele wereldprobleem zo opgelost. We moeten ons bewust worden van de verantwoordelijkheid die we daarin hebben.
Eigenlijk schaam ik me dat ik ben blijven zitten en niet heb geholpen.

Plastic in Bali Indonesia.
The first thing I noticed was the clean streets of Bali. Although everywhere we walked there where the small organic praying cub’s whit incense in it, the amount of plastic was little.
The one big problem we saw was when there was a big rainfall. Now it is the rain period in Asia. That means severe rain for short periods. All the trash that is collected and dumped in de rivers is the flushed to the sea causing problems.
The positive thing I saw was that after heavy rainfall, schoolchildren came to the beach to clean up the mess.
My first thought was that this cleaning was only a drop on the ocean. But then I caught myself on the negative thought. If we all would only take just one piece of plastic and throw this in a bin, then the problem worldwide would be solved whit in a matter of months. We must be aware of our one responsibility towards this worldwide problem
Actually, I am ashamed I did not help the kids clean the beach.
